A trailer for THE WALKING DEAD video game that blends 2D and 3D imagery in stunning fashion as homage to the art of the original comic book.

“This trailer really shows off how our artists have managed to take the 2D art style of the comic books and create a 3D world, allowing fans to truly interact with Robert Kirkman’s world for the very first time.”

- Dan Conners, Telltale Games Co-Founder and CEO

Robert Kirkman introduces this trailer for the first video game set in the apocalyptic world of his legendary comic book series THE WALKING DEAD.

Created by animator and director Daniel M. Kanemoto for Telltale Games, the trailer blends 2D and 3D imagery in stunning fashion as homage to the art of the original comic book world on which Telltale’s game is based. Kanemoto was asked to create the trailer after his spec WALKING DEAD title sequence went viral, and he jumped at the opportunity to work with the undead on an “official” basis.

THE WALKING DEAD video game is set for release in late April 2012. Visit Telltale Games at thewalkingdeadgame.com.

Main title sequence for RINGER, the hit CW television series starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell and Kristoffer Polaha.

ALSO AVAILABLE ON YOUTUBE IN 1080p HD

The executive producers of RINGER requested I make some changes to my original title sequence pitch and I produced this alternate version. Although my work was very well received by the production, the network ultimately decided to use a short and simple title card to kick off the series.

But I still had a blast working on this pitch, and hopefully fans of RINGER will have just as much fun watching these titles as I had animating them!

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a woman who goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister. Also starring Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell and Kristoffer Polaha.

The opening titles kick off with an animated transition from the final moments of the pilot’s opening ‘teaser’. The sequence is designed to incorporate a customized animated transition driven by the different ending of each episode’s teaser.

RINGER premiered on Tuesday, September 13th.

A spec title sequence pitch for the CW television series RINGER.

Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as a woman who goes on the run, hiding out by assuming the life of her wealthy identical twin sister. Also starring Ioan Gruffudd, Nestor Carbonell and Kristoffer Polaha.

The opening titles kick off with an animated transition from the final moments of the show’s opening ‘teaser’. The first few seconds of footage in the pitch were taken from a commercial for the series, but the sequence is designed to incorporate a customized animated transition driven by the different ending of each episode’s teaser.

In addition, the artwork within the pitch uses existing publicity photos of the performers, which would be replaced by actual production footage if this pitch were to be developed any further.

RINGER premiered on September 13th, 2012.

“MAKING OF” AVAILABLE ON WWW.ARTOFTHETITLE.COM

My favorite “exclusive” from this year’s Comic-Con was a beautiful painting by legendary artist Drew Struzan, featuring a horde of zombies from THE WALKING DEAD. Frank Darabont is adapting the apocalyptic Image Comics book created by Robert Kirkman, and man, it looks really, really great.

As I was admiring Struzan’s work of art, I wondered what the opening titles to this terrifying new television show might look like… so I animated a spec title sequence using artwork ripped from the pages of the comic, originally illustrated by Charlie Adlard and Tony Moore.

Just so there’s no confusion, I’m not affiliated with the production in any way — I’m simply a huge fan of both Frank Darabont and Robert Kirkman, and this is my attempt at creating a cinematic introduction to one of the all time great “continuing stories of survival horror.”

THE WALKING DEAD premieres on October 31st on AMC.
